About Dr. Matt Sullivan
Bio
I’m a cancer survivor who weathered a history of chronic pain and insomnia. I got through the hardest part of my life with the help of my community: friends, family, doctors, acupuncturists, therapists, and chiropractors. Now, I’m 100% back to health and ready to help you achieve your health goals, whether that’s getting you through cancer treatment, reducing your pain so you can focus on what’s important to you, or improving your energy by optimizing your sleep and hormones. Outside of work, I’m passionate about hiking and skiing in the Cascades and spending time with my wife.
Education
I received both my doctorate in naturopathic medicine and my masters of science in acupuncture from Bastyr University in Kenmore/Seattle. I earned my B.A. in history from Georgetown University, and completed my postbaccalaureate prehealth studies at New York University (NYU). In my dual program at Bastyr, I trained as both a naturopathic physician and an acupuncturist. This combination provided me with a broad clinical training, and a variety of perspectives to address the health of my patients. I have additional training in naturopathic oncology, physical medicine (manual techniques, Kinesio taping, Activator method joint manipulation, dural therapy [similar to biocranial], craniosacral therapy), men’s health, hormone replacement therapy, qigong, trigger point injection, and low level laser therapy (cold laser).
Accreditation
I am currently a member of the Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians and the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians. I am duly licensed in Washington State as an East Asian Medicine Practitioner (acupuncturist) and a Naturopathic Physician.
